As the unit of cultural identity ends, the most important concept to me would be it gives me an idea of what the people thinks about their cultural differences.+Like in the reading of Globalization vs. Americanization, the author told me from his writing how his point of view on the topic. He told me his view on the topic but at the same time that i was reading, i've also compared his view with my thought. But i have also taken some of his view to the topic, which i thought was interesting. I found while reading these stories from the book, that i gave myself a better picture of what was popular and how it was around me. I still remember from a handout that was given in class, that popular are reversible. I also found some interesting view from "they've got to be carefully taught" from Susan Brady Konig on how she describe how it was like for her kids to learn cultural difference in school. When i was a kid, I wasn't taught about this topic. So i found it interesting that littles kids here in America learn about cultural diversity as a young kid. My thought on the topic are similar to the author because I don't think kids at that age would know the topic more in depth. Overall i think it was quite interesting as we go over this unit.
I agree with you.All the people, from all over the world, are all friends, even though they have different background.
ReplyDeleteJun,
ReplyDeleteI can imagine that this wasn't a topic discussed in your school because it was a different environment. Chicago, on the other hand, is the perfect place to learn about this.
