This is the first time that I learn pop culture. Actually, I was very confused what pop culture is at the beginning? However, after the first chapter finished, I not only know a lot of interesting things from pop culture but also increase my speech.
At chapter 1, I have read an article called “They’ve Got Be Carefully Taught”. This article is talking about the significant effect of culture of pre-school education. America fuses a lot of different culture from different countries. Some teachers teach children that what skin color do they have or where their parents come from really. However, this is absolutely a bad idea because they are teaching the children how to separate from each other. This is why pre-school education more important.
Teacher gave us worksheet for homework, and told us to make a group and discuss it. This is my favorite part in this class because we can share our ideas and understand the article better.
Also, we are learning English so far. The group discussion really can help us to increase our ability of speech. For example, after one reading, we have to explain the main idea and some interest part of reading to my group member because we read different topic of reading. One of the purposes to explain the main idea is make our speech better.
Finally, I am very interested in pop culture after learn chapter one. Moreover, I am so exciting to continue next chapter.
